Mackenzie Crook was born on September 29 in Maidstone, Kent, to Michael Crook and Sheila Crook, who worked as a British Airways employee and a hospital manager, respectively. He attended Wilmington Grammar School for Boys.
Crook’s acting career started in 1996 with his debut role in “The Man Who Fell in Love with a Traffic Cone”. He later appeared in Channel 4’s sketch show “Barking” in 1998.
However, it was his role as Gareth Keenan in the popular mockumentary “The Office” that gained him widespread recognition. His excellent portrayal earned him BAFTA nominations.
